Tester 1
Ching, 40 yrs old, General Manager.


During testing, testers initially found the plus icon on the homepage for creating activities somewhat unclear, though she generally found the overall layout easy to understand. As she progressed through steps 3 to 12, questions arose about whether specific fields were mandatory or optional. By step 12, she noted that the explanation for the 'Provide' option was confusing, as she initially thought it required file uploads.

Task Flow 2: Create a survey to gather customer feedback on meal taste


Tester 2
Sean, 35 yrs old, Restaurant Owner.

During testing, tester expressed uncertainty about the distinction between "Task" and "Survey," though he found the ability to preview content while switching functions helpful. He suggested changing "Text" to "Short Answer" for clarity in step 5 and mentioned unfamiliarity with some icons in step 7. Additionally, He found the final "Responses" section somewhat complex and recommended adding descriptions above to enhance understanding.

Tester suggested adding a prompt in the chatbox to indicate AI functionality for quicker comprehension. Overall, he found the task easy to understand. He also found it intriguing to view simple charts alongside expandable cards for detailed information in step 8.

Conclusion

Working on Whisbloom, I discovered the critical importance of addressing specific user needs, such as streamlined reporting and efficient feedback collection, to create solutions that genuinely improve daily operations for business owners and managers. Through creating user personas, conducting user testing, and employing iterative design, I gained valuable hands-on experience in refining design choices based on real user feedback. This approach ensured our final product was both practical and user-friendly. The project significantly deepened my understanding of the design process, particularly how thoughtful UX design can lead to more effective and engaging solutions.
